Lance Briggs will be making his fifth appearance in the Pro Bowl.
Seven year veteran linebacker Lance Briggs was named to his fifth Pro Bowl today. In 14 games this season Briggs has made 106 tackles, two and half sacks and one interception.
In 108 games, Lance Briggs, who is only 29 years old has made 764 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 10 interceptions, four defensive touchdowns and nine forced fumbles over seven seasons.
Briggs has been a real leader for the Bears this season, with Urlacher out Briggs has worn that captain patch with pride. He is a fan favorite and clearly a favorite around the players and coaches of the NFL. It seems like he is one of the most consistent linebackers in the league.
Congratulations Lance, this award is very well deserved. Hopefully when Brian Urlacher comes back next season you Hunter Hillenmeyer and Brian Urlacher will be the best linebackers in the league.
Congrats again.

Lance Briggs and the Bears will look to keep the Lions from gaining momentum following their first win since 2007.
Overview: Now that the Detroit Lions have proven that they can win a football game, the question is whether they are good enough to compete on a regular basis or were they just fortunate to be playing a Redskins team that seems destined for turmoil.
The Bears have recovered from their struggles on opening night and now seem to be settling into their role as a solid defensive team with some flashes of offensive prowess.
Last Week: Detroit ended their 19-game losing streak with a 19-14 victory over the Washington Redskins. Rookie quarterback Matt Stafford had his finest day completing 21 of 26 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown. Kevin Smith rushed for 105 yards before an injury forced him from the game. Washington had a chance to win at the end, but the Lions held on.
The Bears needed a 36-yard touchdown pass from Jay Cutler to Devin Hester to defeat the Seahawks 25-19. Jay Cutler was 21 for 27 for 247 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. The defense allowed 346 yards of offense, but held on for the win.

Lance Briggs earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his play against Seattle.
Bears linebacker and defensive captain Lance Briggs was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week today.
Lance Briggs put on a show in Seattle on Sunday, where he had a sack, an interception, eight tackles and one tackle-for-loss.
Lovie Smith said this about Lance:
“Lance Briggs has been outstanding, he’s played like a Pro Bowler every time he’s touched the field. [Sunday] he was going to will the team, will the defense to step it up.”
Lance Briggs has been voted to four straight pro bowls, but never won this award before Sunday. Way to go Lance, keep it up.

Will Brett Favre still be playing when the Bears travel to Minnesota on November 29?
Bears players Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs and Adewale Ogunleye spoke up about Brett Favre’s return to the NFC North with the Minnesota Vikings, here’s what they said:
Urlacher: “What will he bring to the division? The same thing he did last time, it doesn’t matter [that he's getting older]. He’s still Brett Favre. I don’t think it’s going to be that big of a change. Better running game, obviously, than he had in the past. Other than that, he’s the same guy, he’s a great competitor; he likes to compete, man. He’s going to go out there and give it his best every Sunday; you know that. He’s won a bunch of games, thrown a lot of touchdown passes and broken a bunch of records.”
